New phone, new accessories – isn’t that how the saying goes?
With the release of the exciting new iPhone 5, there are a slew of new accessories you can purchase to accompany your sleek new device. From chargers to cases to iPhone gloves (yes, these are a thing), you’re never short on ways to help improve and enhance your experience. In honor of the iPhone 5, here are the top 5 accessories you should consider.
1. Charging dock
Apple has yet to release their own individual charging dock for the iPhone 5, but until then, don’t carry your cable around. An iPhone 5 charging dock is the perfect solution if you prefer to mount your phone and use it as a bedside clock or similar. Charging docks are relatively cheap – they start from around $20, which is small investment for something you’re going to use over and over again.
2. Third-party headphones
They may have gotten many things right with the iPhone 5, but the jury’s still out on the new Earpods. If you’re not a fan, there are plenty of other headsets that are designed with comfort in mind. Try a Sennheiser or Bose headset for a more cushioned fit, or invest in a new pair of Beats by Dr. Dre headpphones for premium quality sound.
3. Wireless speakers
The iPhone 5 has a different cable connection to the previous generations, and this means you’ll need a completely different set of speakers if you want to dock your new iPhone and blast out music while your phone charges. However, if you’re already planning to buy new speakers, why not try out some wireless ones instead? By utilising Airplay and Bluetooth, these wireless speakers are more convenient and won’t add any more clutter to your tangled cables – and that’s always a bonus.
4. iPhone 5 car mount
When you need to navigate to different destinations in your car, it can be difficult (not to mention illegal in many countries) to prop your phone up to look at the map. When you purchase a car mount for your new iPhone, you’re making your life easier – like Googling a topic such as ‘places to eat in Sydney’ or ‘iPhone 5 rental’, a car mount is an effortless solution for your driving needs.
5. Touch screen gloves
It may seem odd, but touch screen gloves are actually ingenious. Have you ever had to take off your gloves so you can scroll to read a message or the morning news? If you purchase a pair that are specifically designed to work with touch screen phones, you’ll save yourself from always needing to take off your gloves and put them back on; on top of that, your hands will stay warm for as long as you want them to. Invest in some knitted Agloves for around $25, or scour through eBay for some cheaper alternatives.
