With the Apple event on the 12th of September coming closer and closer Apple are really starting to let slip some of the information regarding the iPad mini they have in the works, it is almost a certainty now that the device is going to be announced on the 12th September event, alongside the iPhone 5 and iOS 6.
The latest rumour has come from Digitimes stating that Apple will speed up the production to full volume of the mini tablet in September which will hopefully deal with demand when it is released. This is really the only other area of the tablet market so Apple is bound to get into and hit it hard, as the article on Digitimes comments:
The sources pointed out that the supply chain already started supplying a small volume of 7.85-inch iPad in June with a monthly volume at around several hundreds of thousand.
As for the device’s price, comparing to Amazon and Google’s US$199 7-inch tablet PC, the sources pointed out that even if Apple prices its 7.85-inch iPad at US$299, it is still expected to create a strong impact on the two devices.
