Okay okay okay okay okay, I’m sure there’s an absolute mad rush of people wanting to download TweetBot for the Mac, so I’m going to give you a quick run-down of all the reasons why I think you should stop reading this blog post, and download it! (I should also learn how to form proper sentences!)
I’ve been a massive fan of TweetBot since its release on iOS back in 2011, and what struck me was the sound effects, the Robot-like appearance of the app, the fact it’s so well designed that all of the other apps TapBots make ALL resemble cute little robots!
Well, TweetBot for Mac is no different. It is literally a clone of the BEST iOS Twitter client, brought to the Mac. You get the same UI, the same controls, the same great sound effects. The one thing I greatly disliked about the original Twitter for Mac was that ou couldn’t just view your followers within the app (it took you to the Twitter website..), you couldn’t see who retweeted things, you couldn’t see your mute list.
With TweetBot it feels like a ‘true’ Mac app, no, actually it’s better; it feels like what Apple are trying to do and make the Mac more in sync with iOS. It feels smooth as butter, it looks the part, its got the gorgeous colour scheme and it’s a pleasure to use.
The only downside to using TweetBot at present is that it’s still in Alpha stage, meaning THERE ARE bugs, it will probably crash and melt your Mac! When it’s released properly it will have a price tag, but much like any other TapBots app I will be very willing to pa for it!
