WWDC this year was jam pack with new announcements and brand new Apple toys. From the updates of the MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, Mac Pro and the impressive MacBook Pro with the retina display. The software that was previewed at the event was also pretty impressive and definitely met expectations. The conference saw the announcement of iOS 6 the Apple mobile OS as well as the preview of the Mac OS Mountain Lion.
However there were some rumoured announcements that didn’t make it to the keynote and in this article I am going to take a look at these.
The first of which was there was no Apple TV announcement the predicts of a preview of the Apple television set sadly never happened. The rumoured never suggested the hardware would be announced but just a version of a iOS like tv OS. When you think about it this would be the obvious transition for the iOS operating system as the app interface would play so well to being used in a living on a wide screen tv you could do anything from play Angry bird for the comfort of your sofa to watch party poker television from their website with the built in safari browser.
Another rumoured device that we all wished we would hear from at the event was the iPhone 5. The next smartphone out from Apple is seeing a very large amount of speculation around the device, and currently everyone is waiting for Apple to clarify a few things. They didn’t even let on in the press conference any of the hardware information regards the device, which you would think with all the leaks happening at the moment they would have wanted to disprove or confirm a few things. Apparently not.
Either way the keynote was great and there was plenty of news to mull over and then there is the whole issue of saving up for a Retina equipped MacBook Pro.
