Yesterday Google released its iOS app compatible with the iPhone and iPad for its Chrome and Google Drive applications. The applications have been rumoured for over a month now when they were predicted by a market analyst.
Chrome for iOS has quite a few really good features such as tab syncing across devices and incognito mode. However as pointed out by the next web there is quite a hurdle they have to overcome:
The biggest hurdle that Chrome features, of course, is that it cannot be set to be the default browser on iOS devices, a capability that Apple also reserves for Safari. So, while you can use the browser to your heart’s content, it will not be the default handler for any URLs clicked. That’s a huge hurdle to overcome.
The main app for me is the Google drive app which I haven’t tested yet I use the service a fair bit now to store documents. I just hope it will work better than their gmail iOS app which since the recent update I have found to be even more buggy. Src: Mac rumors
