I’m fairly certain that I can’t be the only person that looks forward to holidays. Hopefully I’m not the only person that spends hours and hours looking for the best deals with flights and staying arrangements, though maybe I’m one of the few people who looks beyond the regular hotel or campsite for a holiday away. Todays app combines some fantastic design, not only graphically, but also in terms of workings that it’s almost impossible not to review.
The app is called AirBnB, and its main purpose is to act as a way of finding a place to stay
in an area of your own choosing. The only catch being you’ll be staying in property owned by someone else. That’s not a problem though right? Staying with someone who can show you the culture, bad ass I’d say!
The best thing about this app, (aside from its concept) is the splash screen; it’s an example of a company that spent a lot of time working with some smart UI Designers. From here you get to the browsing page which displays a list of popular or suggested destinations. (Some of which I never knew I wanted to visit!)
Aside from showing you all the most amazing places that you can’t afford to stay in, it does show you places on a map, by price or by availability. You can list your own house on it, set a price and gain custom from other AirBnb users.
You even get the option of ‘Help! I need a place tonight!’
