Ever since Apple released its app store on the Mac to mirror the capabilities of the one they have for iOS it has been going from strength to strength. Seen as an easier more secure way to download application to your Mac with all the application in one place the app store works very well with the Apple operating system.
There is some talk about it be too locked down which restricts people’s choices and locks them even further into the Apple eco system. Then again it can also be said that this gives extra security value which is especially good in a times like this when viruses are coming out for the Mac and it’s not looking as solid as it once did.
As reported on by Mac rumours the Mac app store has recently hit a nice little milestone as now it has over 10,000 apps live on the service. Since the marketplaces launch in January 2011 it’s gone on to offer app from massive developers with everything from EA games, Angry birds to the lion operating system itself. The store is the fastest growing app store for any PC software out shining anything Windows has to offer.
