Opening the box for my 3rd generation iPad the other day was just like opening any other Apple product it was perfectly set out and it looked like as much thought went into the design of the box as went into the design of the product, this is largely due to the design ethos that both the late Steve Jobs and Jonathan Ive share. Which is that every little detail matters. In this article I am going to give my view on the new iPad, or just iPad as it seems to be called as well as showing you where to go for other reviews from great sites out there.
So lets talk about the improvements, firstly the greatest one and the most obvious the screen. The retina display is truly remarkable, zooming into pictures as far as they can go or watching a film on the device you can easily tell the quality it possesses. The next big jump is the processor and graphics processor thats inside the device, these enable you to use the device for many things such as video editing, photo editing or playing games without a moment of lag or hesitation. This is shown best in the graphically stunning Infinity Blade 2, which plays perfectly and can be seen in the press image below.
Another thing I have noticed is the battery I have used the device a lot in the past 2 days I’ve had it and the charge is still on 53% which is pretty impressive to say my iPhone seems to be leaking battery at the moment.
The apps such as the Natwest banking, Feeddler RSS reader and wordpress apps which are designed specifically for the iPad and looks fantastic on the new screen. This device is still pretty expensive but being the same price as the iPad 2 it’s really pretty good value. Personally I can’t see anything on the market competing on the high end with this device, it will be very interesting to see how the first quarter of sales go for the new iPad.
So they were my thoughts on Apple’s newest tablet products, here are some other people:
