Guest post: Clear To Do list Review

Having been a solid user of task lists for as long as I can remember with a smartphone, I could not really picture myself switching to something that was new fangled. Clear seemed to be getting numerous reviews from people all over, Tweets saying how it was not for them, and reviews saying how amazing it was. In spite of the fact it was only £0.69, it seemed really hard to give in and buy the app!

The idea behind this app is simple; put your tasks in, and swipe them when you’ve finished them. Clear right?

The app is very minimal, but what makes it for me are the whizzing sounds and funky noises that the app makes at certain points. Completing a task feels like I’ve just found a hidden item on a game, clearing the list feels like I’ve been teleported to a place of no-worry. I’ve always believed in the notion that the best designs are those that makeyou want to do the noises as actions happen. This app is no exception.

My gripe with other ToDo lists is that they’re often so fully featured, so graphically beautiful that they take away from the ability to get things done in a hurry! Clear takes that away. Between it’s beautiful sounds, multitouch interface, and sneaky hidden UI tweaks, it’s a blast to use!

(Also, see if you find can all of the UI tweaks, some are hidden depending what apps you have, or what you do!)

If you haven’t yet taken the plunge, I suggest you do.
