In the Queens list of honours this year the famous Apple designer Jonathan Ive was knighted becoming Sir Jonathan Ive. He received this great honour for his work done in industry, where he worked for Apple.
While Ive has been at Apple he has designed some of the most iconic products of our time including the iMac and the iPod. When Steve Jobs was alive Ive was his right hand man for all aspects of design and as you can tell from the success of Apple products recently, it was a pretty good combination.
Jonathan Ive was stated by the Mercury times as saying:
“I am keenly aware that I benefit from a wonderful tradition in the UK of designing and making,” Ive, 44, said in a statement. “To be recognized with this honour is absolutely thrilling and I am both humbled and sincerely grateful. I discovered at an early age that all I’ve ever wanted to do is design. I feel enormously fortunate that I continue to be able to design and make products with a truly remarkable group of people here at Apple.”
