Today Apple held its education even in NYC and thanks to the wonderful guys at The Verge we found out everything Apple had to say. The event started at 2:23pm EST, where they kicked off with the usual music as everyone shuffled into the conference centre. Once everyone had their seat Phil Schiller took the stage and was welcomed to a warm reception. The main theme of the event was Apple working with schools to bring great quality educational apps to student from pre school to University level. The main announcements of the event weren’t the most ground breaking but it is a step in the right direction in terms of bringing the latest technology into schools. The main software announcements were iBooks 2 and iBooks Authors which lets you create interactive books or education. Apple said that they are working with some of the biggest educational publishers out there including Pearson and McGraw HIll.
They also brought out an update to the iTunes U service, which rounded off the press event. Just like with many items of electronics Apple is now trying to bring to reinvent text books using their devices, if anyone can it will be Apple as they have the devices and infrastructure to get it done.
