I wrote this post for another blog when Steve Jobs passed away, sadly it never got posted so I thought I’d post it on here. Take a look.
The co founder of apple and the man who made pixar what it is today steve jobs passed away at the age of 56. Although the cause of death hasn’t been announced the man that made apple into what it is today has been suffering from health problems for the last couple of years, hence just recently stepping down as the CEO of apple. This man was an icon, words that are never used lightly like inspiration, innovator, visionary could describe this man. Being responsible for the world’s greatest selling music device, music store, smart phone and tablet are no easy feet yet steve could proudly boast all of this.
Seen as a figurehead of apple by it’s employees and a respected family man by his family. This really is a sad occasion a death of a man that greatly affected the computer industry as we know it today.
From the apple 1 that he famously made in his garage with Steve Woz. To then being made to leave apple for Next only for apple to then purchase Next off Steve making him apple CEO again. Thus bringing with him innovation like the original iMac and making Apple the company that it is today.
This great man will be remembered fondly by apple fans and non apple fans alike even if you didn’t like his products, you can’t argue against what an impact he has made on the industry. Throughout the day of his death there were been many great tributes to Jobs from the likes of Bill Gates to Barrack Obama. I’m sure there will be many more to come but my personal favourite is written by his friend and an apple reporter, Walt Mossberg at the wall street journal who perhaps as a friend and a technology reporter had one of the greatest insight into this visionaries life.
Finally I’d just like to give my condolences and best wish his family all the best.
